LMH Nurse Pracitioner now a certified medical examiner

Did you know that new guidelines will soon be in effect for how physical examinations can be performed for truck and bus drivers? The National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners is a federal program that establishes requirements for healthcare professionals who perform physical qualification examinations for truck and bus drivers. 

May 21, 2014 is the date that marks when these new regulations go into effect. Within two years of that date, all interstate CMV drivers must have their physical examination performed by a certified medical examiner listed on the National Registry.

Wonda Elmore, FNP-C

Nurse Practitioner Wonda Elmore, FNP-C has recently completed the necessary testing and training to become a certified medical examiner. Logansport Memorial Hospital is pleased to be able to provide this service for all interstate CMV drivers in Cass and the surrounding counties through Healthy Companies, the occupational health services clinic inside the hospital.
